Necessary Sacrifice was originally formed by a warrior named Naweon in August of 2008. He wanted a guild where every member could participate in raiding. His one goal was to defeat Illidan Stormrage, self-proclaimed Lord of Outland, before WOTLK was released. That mission was accomplished in two months with time to spare! Now NS continues as a strong progression guild.

At the onset of Wrath of the Lich King, a shining beacon of beauty and grace succeeded NS. Overseeing the destruction of Kel'Thuzad in Naxxramas and plummeting the guild into the depths of Ulduar, the druid Nigela lead NS into a period of prosperity. Her time with the guild was short, but will always be remembered.

Currently under the guidance of the warlock Kylix, Necessary Sacrifice has become a force in Northrend with the destruction of Arthas, the Scourge leader dubbed the Lich King. NS strives forward, and with the onset of the Cataclysm, sweeping through Nefarian and continuing to work through the Firelands.

With the aid and leadership of Necrophobe, NS raged into the Firelands and cut a devastating rift through Ragnaros' minions, finally culminating in the death of Ragnaros himself. Kylix continued pushing for Heroic encounters, making a joke out of the Firelands.
